A Letter to My Outie
I’m sorry if this doesn’t make much sense. I write this mostly for me so I guess that’s bound to happen sometimes. It will make more sense if you’ve seen the last episode of season two of Severance. The relationship Dylan has with himself was impactful to me.
He has an inner bad-ass that he wishes would come out. I identify with this because I find myself comparing myself to only the people at the top which means I’ll never get to feel like a bad-ass. Instead, I need to look at my trajectory—what I’m doing consistently—and be proud of my growth.
Dear Outie,
You’re taking care of our kids. And the house. You are being persistent with writing and taking care of our body. You are using your ability to learn well and putting in reps at many different skills. You have momentum stored and growing. Be proud of your trajectory. Adjust it when needed. Rest when needed. And persistence is worth celebrating.
Sincerest regards,
Your Innie.
